there’s nothing like an impromptu family vacation (only 2 weeks notice!). and i think 4 days is the magic formula for a busy person, because i had the time to recover from work-land and still have fun with my family. plus, now that i’m at home sitting in this 90 degree weather, thinking of the snow makes me happy.

leith and i got in one vacation together in 2007, just barely! instead of heading home for christmas, we flew to the big island. it was a physical vacation with lots of hiking and we experienced so many different climates and environments. you’ll notice lots of pictures of food, signs and me walking (since leith had the camera).

my first girls’ trip ever - six of us flew out to vegas for relaxation and dancing. it was a fun trip and you’ll see tons of pictures because ladies like the photos. :)

my mom and sister and i got away during our busy summer to the big city. we took a whirlwind tour in 6 days…

my mom might get mad at me for using this picture [i’m in my pj’s!] but it’s hilarious, and what is more NY than eating NY pizza in bed?

not many people are lucky enough to travel to places like hawai’i for work. the event went very well, despite the long working hours and a last minute snafu. Our two days was just that - a mere two days. we loved that island and i’ll have to go back and finish trying all of the places on my list. ah, some day.

i spent my thanksgiving in dallas again. i missed my mom’s turkey dinner last year and it was nice to have it again. my grandma is in dallas, my grandpa turned 80 and nada was in town from morocco. it was a busy week!

after a hectic summer, leith and i escape to seattle. i’m calling it the austin of the pacific northwest. it’s a great place to live and we loved the culture there…of course, we enjoyed clear skies and hot days, unlike the stereotypical rain you always here about.

lily became a yankee for a few days and went to visit jay’s family in maine. it might be the first time i’ve seen her in a sweatshirt.

my business trip for SDI Michigan fell through, but i made lemonade out of lemons. instead, my mom and i turned those 3.5 days into a fun mother-daughter vacation. it was a lot of driving, but our meals were scrumptious and hotel beds are always the best!

after working away at Stanford Matters: Stanford Day in Los Angeles, leith, nasun, sarah and me headed off to disneyland for the day. check out our packet stuffing party, a couple of event pictures, dinner in LA and our disneyland adventures (leith’s first trip!)
